I’ve purchased the ATEM television studio a few weeks ago. I did play with it but not seriously. Tomorrow I will be using the ATEM television studio for the first time on a job so today I’m trying it more thoroughly. What I can say so far is that the ATEM television studio is very easy to set up. Althought I,m having problems with my Internet being active at the same time as the controller I do like that I can do everything from one mac book pro. My set up goes like this; 1 macbook, 1 828 mkII from motu connected to the ATEM television studio via digital output and of cours the ATEM television studio. The software that are running are the controller and Media Express. I also sure photoshop if I need to do lower thirds. For this contract thought I will do the lower thirds, the opening and closing in final cut pro. My client doesn’t know what look the project is going to be.
So I do have more then 15 live recordings to do in the next 3 weeks so I’ll give you a report on how it went. I usually shoot documentary style. Live to tape recording will be a great time saving way to do some contracts making it cheaper for the clients. I want to do live events like sports and broadcast them live on Internet so I might buy a few kits to do that.
